Bankstown Electorate

Previous Next

The Legislative Assembly District comprises partially or wholly of Bankstown, Beverly Hills, Chullora, Condell Park, Greenacre, Lakemba, Mount Lewis, Narwee, Punchbowl, Revesby, Riverwood, Roselands, Wiley Park and Yagoona. It holds 59,807 electors and occupies an area of 24 square kilometres.

Bankstown was first contested at the 1927 election. Over time Bankstown has become a distinct and growing community and has undergone several boundary changes throughout its history. These changes are typically made to account for population growth and demographic shifts within the region.

The Bankstown electorate is known for its diverse population, with a mix of residential, commercial and industrial areas. The suburbs within the Bankstown Electorate are home to a wide range of communities, including people from different cultural backgrounds and socioeconomical statuses.
