About Jihad
Jihad has dedicated his life to promoting and improving the community of Bankstown. He understands the importance of collaboration and unity and his passion and determination ensure everyone in our community gets their fair share of funding for better services and infrastructure.
Prior to being elected to the NSW Parliament in 2015, Jihad Dib was principal of Punchbowl Boys’ High. Over the period of nine years, he dedicated his time to rebuilding the school by developing relationships with the local community, local organisations, and government agencies. He ensured that the Bankstown community, its families, and their values were at the centre of the school’s heart and that opportunities were available for students to reach their full potential.
Since entering Parliament, Jihad has been a strong representative of our Bankstown community and does not shy away from raising issues important to us all.
Jihad has a powerful vision for the Bankstown electorate, with his priorities being to:
- Focus on addressing the needs of the local community, specifically housing affordability.
- Promoting social cohesion, focusing on addressing issues of discrimination and racism in the community.
- Young people who are the future of our community and creating opportunities for them to succeed in society.
