The Minns Labor Government is continuing to deliver on its record investment in TAFE NSW, with the opening of TAFE NSW Bankstown City, a brand-new campus in the heart of Bankstown CBD.

The opening marked a major milestone following the closure of the former TAFE NSW Bankstown campus in late 2025, which will be the site of a new, $2 billion Bankstown Hospital.

The move means Bankstown is not losing training capacity, it is gaining both a new hospital and a modernised TAFE campus. Importantly, the new campus strengthens the pipeline of skilled workers who will support growing industries across the region, including healthcare, construction and community services.

Co-located with Western Sydney University, this new campus delivers state of the art learning environments designed to mirror real workplaces.

Students will gain hands on experience in simulated healthcare and disability support facilities, modern hair and beauty salons, digital learning studios, and dedicated student support hubs, ensuring they are job-ready from the moment they complete their studies.

Specialised facilities have been purposefully designed to enrich education and hands-on training, providing students with immersive, real-world learning environments. These include:

  • Computer labs

  • Simulated aged and disability home care space

  • Simulated barber shop

  • Simulated beauty salon

  • Simulated community services workplace

  • Simulated counselling room

  • Simulated hairdressing salon

  • Simulated hospital setting

  • Simulated residential aged care environment

TAFE NSW has trained generations of people in the Bankstown area, and this new campus ensures that legacy continues in the heart of our city.
